CREATING SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP PRESENCE THROUGH POWERFUL COACHING PARTNERSHIPS
The primary focus of Unleash Potentials is relationship. Through intentional and purposeful conversations, we build powerful partnerships which allows us to deepen our client connection, fully understand their business objectives and design and deliver a full suite of relevant services, meeting desired outcomes.
Coaching is an experiential, confidential and individualized leader development process that builds a leader’s capability to achieve short- and long-term organizational and personal goals. It is conducted through one-on-one transformational, not transactional, conversations. It is a relationship based on mutual trust and respect where by the organization, the leader, and the coach work in partnership to achieve maximum impact.
Coaching is truly an investment which supports executives, leaders, individuals and teams through organizational initiatives, individual leadership challenges, changes in organizational culture and business focus, and talent growth and development. Coaching is about engaging the individual and helping them make conscious choice in their intention and impact. It’s about having leaders at all levels take ownership of their leadership presence, look at perspectives shifts, move beyond comfort zones, challenge perceived (and real) barriers, build upon and leverage their leadership capabilities, and develop and grow the talent of others.
This program is for emerging leaders through to senior leaders, with a focus on developing and accelerating the specific performance skills necessary for effective leadership. This service consists of one on one sessions approximately every two weeks for a minimum of six months. We include a selection of behavioural and psychometric assessments (see Assessments) as well as an optional 360 as part of this program offering.
This program is for Executive Leaders (AVP through C-Suite) with a duration typically eight months in length, but can go longer if needed. This program consists of one on one coaching sessions conducted approximately twice per month, in-between session support via email or phone as needed, a selection of tools and assessments, a full 360, and a half day shadowing process and debrief.
Organizational and Team Coaching
This offering consists of coaching multiple leaders in one organization or a group of individuals in an intact team. The focus is on the whole of the relationship and how the individuals play a part in the dynamic and success of the team relationship. Each participant receives an individual development plan with a focus on both their individual needs as well as the collective needs of the team. This offering is typically done through group coaching sessions, workshops, as well as some one-on-one sessions. As it is important to focus on team and organizational needs the team sessions will have everyone come together approximately every six to eight weeks for a half-day session. As it is important to meet the organizational and team needs, a design session is suggested to discuss desired outcomes, materials, assessments, etc. Regardless of the actual content, individual development of each leader and the needs of the team/organization are a significant part of the end result.
Formal training is both an effective and required approach to leadership and individual development. Focused workshops are a great way to introduce concepts, methodology, ideas, and theory and at Unleash Potentials we deliver these through interactive and engaging facilitation. The approach is hands on and participative, all done from a coach like approach. Although training is very effective, it only covers off approximately 10% of an individuals learning. This concept states that development typically begins with realization of a need and motivation to do something about it, and that a blend of different learning approaches can provide powerful learning.
The learning concept:
70% comes from on-the-job experiences, tasks, and problem solving.
20% comes from coaching, mentoring, in the moment feedback, and from working around both good or bad examples of the behaviour.
10% comes from training courses, workshops, and reading.
Because it is so important to put the learning to work, it is recommended that organizations consider follow-on coaching as part of their program. Follow-on coaching embeds the learning and makes the application of the learning much more applicable day to day.
The workshops offered at Unleash Potentials range from half day up to three-day, as well as customized off site retreats. Although these are typically part of an organizational coaching project, designing what is offered based on our client needs and requirements is crucial. The focus centers around individual and team development, coaching and leadership skills, Emotional Intelligence, Risk Type Compass, conflict resolution, personality awareness through MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator), and more.
In addition to the workshops offered through Unleash Potentials, we also offer facilitation of organizational "in-house" programs. Our experience is one that brings a coach like approach to all teachings and can provide a fresh outlook on well established programs. Aligning the learnings from those programs back to the individuals leadership capabilities is key to having longer term impact. We offer both individual type facilitation or partner facilitation. Learning increases when there is a complimentary dynamic between two facilitators, and Unleash Potentials prides itself on bringing that dynamic to the room.

MBTI® – Myers Briggs Type Indicator
Do you know your personality type? Do you prefer being organized and following a schedule, or playing it by ear? Are you energized by being around people or by spending time alone? Whatever your personality type is, it affects all aspects of your life. Find out your type and how knowing more about it can help you in communicating with people, planning your future, and even getting to know yourself better. Understanding ourselves is the key to creating healthy and effective relationships with others. Through that understanding we discover what our preferences are and how we work with our energy, take in information, make decisions, and ultimately how we deal with the world around us.
The MBTI® tool is based on 50 years of research, and it’s constantly being improved using new data and the latest assessment techniques. It can help you find your strengths, note possible blind spots, and get your ideas across more effectively to friends, family, co-workers, and even your boss. The MBTI® assessment can be used with dozens of expert resources that show you how to utilize the instrument in specific applications such as communication, leadership, innovation, change and conflict. A practical and powerful set of tools for lifelong growth and development.
Assessment Instrument and
Multi-Rater Assessment Instrument
Assessment for EQ is not an end, but rather a means to an end. The end is increased self awareness so you can best decide your ‘next steps’ to becoming better and more effective at being in touch with your own emotions and those of others, having better conversations, better relationships, be a better leader, team player – be more effective at work – and life!
Leadership determines whether employees are productive and happy or whether they are surfing the net looking for another job or thinking about taking stress leave.
Many leaders do not realize that their primary role is to inspire, motivate, and support employees. In fact, many do not realize the negative and unintentional impact they have on their work environment.
Emotional intelligence skills assessment and training helps managers to become aware of the importance of their own emotions and how to pay more attention and impact positively on the emotions of their direct reports, their peers, and their managers.
Risk Type Compass™
There is a potential for risk in almost everything we do; every decision we make at work or at home has some level of risk associated with it. To better understand how an individual, leaders, or team may approach risk, the Risk Type Compass™ may be used to provide a common language as it is an instrument that assesses the different ways in which individuals perceive risk. Based primarily on personality research, the Risk Type Compass™ uses aspects of an individual’s temperament to place them into one of eight risk propensity categories known as Risk Types. An individual’s Risk Type will give an indication of how an individual perceives risk, how much uncertainty they can cope with, and how they will react when unexpected events or outcomes occur.
The applications are wide reaching, from individual, leadership and team development, to understanding how executive boards manage organizational risk, and to the financial and auditing industries where risk is part of their every day. Investors have also found that using this assessment with their clients helps them to better recommend investment portfolios that meet their client’s appetite for financial risk.

Stress Profile – WPS
With the ever growing demands on higher productivity/less resources, budget cuts, changing results, people management, retention, transition, and the day-to-day expectations in today’s organizations, it is no wonder the percentage of workplace absence and illness due to stress has increased significantly over the last 10 years.
While some workplace stress is normal, excessive stress can interfere with your productivity and impact your physical and emotional health. And your ability to deal with it can mean the difference between success or failure. You can’t control everything in your work environment, but that doesn’t mean you’re powerless—even when you’re stuck in a difficult situation. Finding ways to manage workplace stress isn’t about making huge changes or rethinking career ambitions, but rather about focusing on the one thing that’s always within your control: you.
The Stress Profile quickly identifies individual characteristics and behaviors that protect against or contribute to stress-related illness. In just 20 minutes, the Stress Profile measures all personal traits and lifestyle habits that have been shown to moderate the stress-illness relationship. It is ideal for organizational use–for behavioral health or executive coaching programs.
This convenient self-report inventory provides scores in 15 areas related to stress and health risk.
